DIY Nautical Terrarium Container

To start, I purchased a deep plant saucer with a 12" diameter and 30cm circumference and a ceramic saucer (similar one here).

I then bought about 10 feet of manila rope from Home Depot.

I started at the top of the plastic liner wrapping the rope around it and cutting the rope where the two ends met.

Next, I used super glue to glue the rope to the plastic. I ran out of glue halfway through and used my hot glue gun instead. It actually bonded the rope to the plastic much better than my super glue.

Once the glue is on the plastic, press the rope onto the plastic and hold. Be careful when you hold the rope to the plastic if you're using the hot glue gun since the glue is hot! I glued the rope in 3 inch segments. Continue to glue the rope until both ends meet and follow the same steps for the remainder of the plastic. I did three rows since the bottom of the plastic was covered by the white ceramic saucer. I also made sure that the area where the two ends meet was all in the same place so that could be the back of the saucer.

Now on to the planting! See the rest of the DIY Terrarium how-to here.
