Reveal - The Evolution of Our Living Room

June 18, 2015

This room has been a long time in the making, and has been through quite a lot of style changes along the way. When I started this process about year ago, I was set on an antique rug and neutral couch, and then our blue couch's price tag caught my eye at the ADAC sample sale - first wrench in the plan.

So then the apartment looked like this, which I loved, but the gray rug was a bit too large for the space making the room feel much smaller than it actually was.

Apartment Update II

So we moved the gray rug into the bedroom, and then I got a little too accessory happy and WAY over decorated the space. During this time period, the living room did not look good. But I'm happy to say, it didn't stay this way for long. I moved the snake plant into another room, and the gold etagere and the painting into the guest room.

On the other side of the room, I started to build a galley wall to help bring the TV into the decor scheme.

And here's where I netted out!

Although extremely different from my original plan, I absolutely love the space and it's traditional but bohemian feel. We moved the original TV console into our bedroom and replaced it with an antique trunk we found at a shop in Charleston. The biggest difference was really the addition of this Moroccan influenced rug that brought a bright, white and airy feel to the space.
