Wow, it is amazing how much easier DIY is in Atlanta than New York. You find a cool piece of furniture on the side of the road? You pick it up...and put it in your car. You don't lug it two avenues and ten blocks and then up your four flights of stairs. Atlanta, you're on to something...
I was lucky enough to be able to fly home early for Thanksgiving this weekend and found these Chinoisserie/Chippendale chairs out on the curb. When new (and I will admit, more intricate) Chippendale chairs cost as much as $600, I was thrilled to find these for free! They have clearly been sitting outside and need some cleaning and TLC, but a bath, a new paint coat and seat cushions, and they'll look brand new!
I'm trying to decide how to redo the chairs and would love some help. I'm somewhere between a statement color for the frame and pattern play for the cushion or white and neutral with a pillow to make it versatile.
What do you think?

ReplyDeleteI think those are my favorite too. They look great with that antique rug too!
DeleteI really like the ones that have color!! What a good find...oh the joys of having a car :)
ReplyDeleteHaha I know right? I think if I saw brand new Chippendale chairs on the side of the road in NY I'd really have to be convinced to trek them home!
