Domino Magazine Partners With One Kings Lane

April 30, 2012

Domino Magazine was the first design magazine that really got me excited about home decor. So after it's 4 yr hiatus from 2005-2009, I am beyond excited to see the magazine back on shelves and partnering with my favorite online shop for home decor. This week, when you buy anything from Ones King Lane you receive a complimentary copy of the new Domino Quick Fixes edition!

Check out my favorites from One Kings Lane's sales today:

Obviously I can't forget to include my favorite fashion artist - Leigh Viner. You can also buy smaller prints from her Etsy shop (which are much cheaper)

Skinny Sangria Recipe

April 28, 2012

With May only a few days away, that means beach and pool season is about to hit in Atlanta. We don't really get spring like other cities, and instead get a few nice days of 70 and sunny until we hit heat. And I mean hot until...um..October? Which means, there are A LOT of months for beach and pool side drinking.

I am a huge fan of a pina colada, strawberry daiquiri, anything with run and a tropical juice, and have been known to get talked into Flip Flops on Crescent Avenue for such. This skinny sangria recipe has got to be the best drink to get your tropical warm weather beverage fix without knocking on the calories to your beach body.

Ingredients
1 bottle Sauvignon Blanc (choose whatever brand you prefer - I just normally go with whatever is chilled and the cheapest)
1 bottle Prosecco (same here)
1 tablespoon agave nectar
1 orange
1 pack of strawberries
1 pack of raspberries

Rinse fruit and cut into desired slices. Mix fruit with 3/4 of the Sauvignon Blanc bottle in a pitcher. Let fruit and Sauvignon Blanc sit for 15 mins in the refrigerator. Add 3/4 the bottle of Prosecco and 1 tablespoon of Agave Nectar and stir. Let Sangria chill in the refrigerator for another 15 minutes or longer.

Hump Day Home Makeover // Bedroom

April 25, 2012

Being that today is hump day, I'm taking it a step further and starting my very first Hump Day Home Makeover post. Knowing from experience that it's hard to get that motivation or to find the right style inspiration to redo a room in your house, every Wednesday I'll be posting my favorite room image for the week along with the pieces you need to make that look happen in your home.

To start of this week, I picked the bedroom below, because I am currently obsessed with ikat and this room is pretty much my ideal bedroom at the moment. This entire room came from a store in Australia, and it unfortunately does not ship to the U.S. or have this ikat duvet cover in stock (sorry for the tease, but come on this room is too beautiful not to share). Check out how to get the look below with similar items.

Domino Magazine Is Back!

April 23, 2012

Finally! All of my lobbying and begging has paid off ;) After a 3 year hiatus, my favorite home design magazine, that closed in 2009 due to the economic downturn, is back on newsstands with a special edition.

A $10.99 special edition and judging by the tweets @DominoMagazine, it’s a special edition you’ll have to search for. Fans are going to 3-5 stores to find the publication. If you’re in Atlanta and happen to be in the airport…I found mine on concourse A at HMS Host. And yes, you’ll have to look for it - I literally pulled it out of a rack on an open door to an employees only zone.

Weekend Wrap Up // Sweetwater 420 Fest

April 22, 2012

This weekend I went to Sweetwater's 420 fest in Candler Park. It was my first time going, and I loved all of the local artists' booths at the event. I picked up a few things and took pictures of others I loved.

These were some cool spoon rests from recycled bottle |My kind of clock - beach time with no hands
I liked this hand painted wooden frame. Looks like an easy DIY project if you use a stencil | Picked this piece up for my sister (hopefully she isn't reading my blog yet ;))
These coasters were a must - my favorite mexican restaurant | friends outside the comedy tent

jewelry / cross bracelet bling

April 10, 2012

David Yurman bracelets & cross bracelet from Firefly Trends
I am loving these diamond cross bracelets that are popping up all over blogs, Pinterest and Etsy. They are great to mix and match or add a pop of color and bling. I've been traveling to Plano, TX every other week for work for a few months now, and have quickly found my favorite shops at The Shops at Legacy. I got this new cross bracelet at Firefly Trends and love it paired with the classic David Yurman bangles.

For those of you not in Plano, you should really check out Etsy or Diana Warner.
